“Anything that excites me for any reason, I will photograph; not searching for unusual subject matter, but making the commonplace unusual.” – Edward Weston (1886 - 1954)

Got started in the early nineties with a Zeiss Ikon Icarex 35, which demanded an external exposure meter. For sure this made me slow, on the other hand it taught me a bit about handling the lens / exposure time choice. One fine day, the cylinder which transports the film refused to work. When I found out that a repair would have cost me thrice the price i would have had to pay for an Icarex 35 S TM. Unfortunately my personal Zeiss Ikon era ended with that trasport cylinder breaking, the replacement I got never found proper use.

After a rather long hiatus things got moving again when I got myself an old russian Zenit 10 as well as an analogue Canon. In the end, feeling to lack practice and urging to get some, I fell for digital photography. Mainly because taking a few hundred photos just to practice now was feasible in a much easier manner. Taking the decision on which Camera to use revealed to be quite a struggle, but in the end I opted for a second hand Canon PowerShot SX 200 IS, as it felt wrong to equip with high expense material when still practicing. Second reason was, I could not figure out at all which new camera to get. Guess I still wouldn't know for sure. So the Canon stays my companion for now.
