I'm a partially retired American living in Brazil for 40+ years. I'm currently working and studying toward improving my personal capabilities in Photography, Digital Art and short non-fictional writing. In general, I'm trying to become more creative, and to focus a little less on my past technical experiences. Or at least incorporate both technical and creative thinking and living into my work (all kinds) and hobbies.

A few years back, I started taking a course in art more to understand something about it, and not really with the intention to "Do Art." Then I discovered that there are digital tools that allowed me to progress beyond my initial simple and limited studies.

The mix of practical actions and results of digital photography with work on the computer (using virtual actions with programs like GIMP and Apophysis fractal generator and also Chaoscope) are still progressing, but not without some interesting results I believe. The challenges of producing something "real" and what could be considered as an object of art, showing a poetic reality still remains a major challenge.

The exploration of ideas and questions about our nature, environment and sustainability in a way aesthetically interesting with the mixing of nature photographs and with “photographs” created mathematically (virtually) and then printed and mounted on unconventional supports continues to be my current focus.
