I am a photography hobbyist. I started off with an Olympus mju300 which was given to me as a gift in January 2004. It did not take long for me to realize that in enjoyed photography tremendously. I began to take it more seriously and in June 2005 I purchased a Canon PowerShot G6 to further my hobby. I kept the mju300 as a second camera, however it had several major shortcomings (no manual controls and poor low light ability), so in September of 2005 I replaced it with a Canon PowerShot SD450.
The PowerShot G6 is a good, solid, capable camera and when I got it I (mistakenly) concluded that it would be a few years before I would consider buying a digital SLR. However, after seeing the quality the results of my friends' SLRs I was very tempted and in October of 2005 I purchased (kind of on impulse) my Canon EOS 5D. Since then I have slowly added to my collection of lens and I now have four: an EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM, an EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM, an EF 50mm f/1.4 USM, and an EF 16-35mm f/2.8L USM. (I am in the process of tagging all my photos so that they show up by what equipment was used.)
There are many things I love to photograph: animals in the wild, natural settings, city lights at night, odd architecture, etc. I have a particular weakness towards sunsets, and I probably would for sunrises as well except I rarely see them.
I also enjoy photographing people, however people complain about having their photos taken and sunsets do not.
My favorite photo (of those I have taken) is this one. Although this one is a near second. Several other favorites are here.
Aside from photography I enjoy meeting people, doing things outside (such as hiking, biking and camping) and road trips. Feel free to send me a message.
My blog is here.
