I'm a Chinese-English translator/interpreter now living in Beijing, but originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. I am interested mainly in shooting landscapes, architecture, flora and fauna, although I do try to dabble in other forms of picture taking, such as macro and still life arrangements. I was inspired to set up my own flickr account after seeing all of the fantastic photos on this fascinating and rewarding site.

I view photography as an exploration of one's creative urges through the use of the external world as a canvas. Hunting for and capturing images is a process of discovery and a celebration of the magic that can spring up at anytime and at any place along life's journey.

 

Sometimes photography can be a deliberate and technical craft that brings a sense of satisfaction from honing and executing one's skills of capturing and realising a vision. At other times it is a totally spontaneous act of pure imagination and joy that appeals to the curious and playful child in us all.

 

The dynamic spontaneity of exploring the world through the lens is equally enjoyable as the meticulous rendering of images, so as to add your own interpretation back on to a given reflection of external reality.

 

The camera is a collaborator, companion and even a mentor leading us onward to endless possibilities.

Christopher Harry is a friend of mine in China .A staunch supporter……… a true friend, and one of the 100 “Friends” that are my contacts. His work is special because he brings you into his world on many levels ………and for me living in Canada it is a chance to see his world on a pro level and I appreciate that as it is so special. Since I have been on flickr I have always had Christopher on my side .A kind soul, and a dedicated supporter of my work ….I know him even though I have never heard his voice……..I’m just thankful for the support, and kindness of a very special soul who is there beside me even though he is thousands of miles away.
