The screen name comes from the brand name of the nicotin patches I used, to quit smoking. We, the patches and I, were succesfull. As a reward, I bought myself a Nikon D80. The patches got nothing - worse even, they got thrown away.

Later I bought a Nikon D5300 and recently, I switched to a Sony A7 III.

I studied Dutch language and literature, at the university of Utrecht, and specialized in Phonetics. I am still very much interested in languages and linguistics, as well as in literature.

I work as a management consultant, and immensly enjoy this profession. Fortunately there is more than work alone to enjoy, like classical music, and, of course, photography.

I live in the Netherlands, in the town of Leiden.

I have been lucky enough to call Dick a friend here on flickr, and am always astounded by his images - they're always incredibly rich and lyrical...sometimes moody and forlorn, sometimes deep and mysterious, but always they seem to have a fascinating narrative. While his landscapes are breathtaking, and his still life work is equally evocative, some of my favorite shots on flickr are from his night work where the saturated palette and warm glowing lights bring me right there with him to the Netherlands....in fact anyone who has ever wished to see the Netherlands, should take a trip through Dick's photostream, and see this beautiful place through his eyes. It is a wonder! Thanks, Dick, and congratulations on all the incredible work you've done here on flickr...I look forward to seeing each new photo! All the Best, -Lill
