Hi, I'm 18 years old and am currently at Roby Sixth Form College studying Full Time Art. I have always loved taking photos, however it wasn't until I begun studying Photography itself that I had the urge to reguarly go out and hunt down good photos.
As stated, I enjoy the active side of Photography; exploring and finding places you never knew existed before and seeing them in a whole new way. Whilst on site, I take roughly 1-200 photos per day. If i get 1 or 2 successful shots from that batch I'd class my day as a success. I like to think I have a decent eye for composition and I love capturing bright bold colours. Whilst at College, however, I have developed a fresh admiration for Black & White Photography, also. Therefore, you will find a range of Monochrome and Colour photographs in my Photostream.
My favourite things to shoot are probably all things macro and just the normal everyday objects we all see. However, when turned into a photograph, they possess a whole new life of their own. Hopefully you, too, can appreciate this art through my work.

During my first month at Flicker, here he came commenting on two portraits on my stream... then he added me up. Of course, I checked on his stream, right away, and was delighted to see his photos. He has that certain style that has a cinematic feel to it. He can make simple objects look, definitely, interesting... and with a soul. Thanks, Jamie for adding me up. I am always fascinated by the depth and intelligence in all your works. Frankly, I was kinda scared of his icon before i could add him, too.... ^_^

Jamie is an enthusiastic photographer, a great eye for detail and has excellent ideas to produce that key composition, this is evident within his work, the quality of his photographs have exceled since his ownership of a digital SLR, although the effects, compositions and ideas produced using his compact were astounding also. using professional techniques gained through knowledge, being taught and experimenting, I can't help but be inspired by Jamie, it is great to see what and how Jamie will accquire his next photograpgh Another thing, which is present within most of his titles is a story/ meaning behind his observations, which again easily places him into the professional category. his exploration of urban decay and how he portrays this is a great asset to be admired but also close up photography is a real strong point also, with no limitation to subject matter from insects to jammie dodgers, every new photograph that is published on flickr does not fail to impress me and bring a smile to my face Use of light, colour, perspective and imagination can only flourish, creativity is shown with intense editing that adds feeling and dramatises his already great eye for detail His focus upon the war was astonishing, such a hard subject matter was portrayed in such a meaningful and atmospheric manner, again this could not have been made this possible without ideas and observation, to gain such striking images that at glance would not be dismissed at 18 years old Jamie has observational skills, a great eye for detail, creativity, meaning, enthusiasm, motivation, and knowledge about a subject, important to link and show this within imagery, Jamie has great potential to be a professional photographer as his photograpghs develop from strength to strength. Also he is a brilliant illustrator unbeknown to Flickr again developing into a professional in this line of field also, I am confident Jamie will progress to be a confident and professional in any line of art and design field, it is a pleasure to know and see jamie develop and I can't wait to see what will develop next...
