I am retired and live in Melbourne, Australia's second largest city. More specifically, I live in Northcote in the inner north, where I've been for over 40 years after migrating from the rural communities of my childhood and early adulthood (to which I return whenever possible).

I don't pretend to be the world's best photographer, but I love capturing the range of people and scenes I encounter in my daily wanderings.

I am passionate about both rural and urban Australia—ancient landscapes and fascinating but much less ancient cityscapes. I enjoy sharing images of the land I love with the Flickr community and hope they provide interest and enjoyment. I also relish capturing more exotic places on occasional trips outside Australia.

My current cameras are a Canon EOS 5D Mark IV and a Canon EOS R5. I use Canon EF lenses: 16-35mm f/4, 24-105mm f/4, 50mm f/1.2, 70-200mm f/2.8, and 100mm f/2.8 macro, plus an RF 24-240mm f/4-6.3 and an RF 24-70mm f/2.8. I also have two Tamron telephoto lenses: 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3 and 150-600mm f/5-6.3.

I nearly always shoot in RAW and do light development in Lightroom, then create basic frames in Photoshop before posting. I do not use AI for my photography—not a moral judgement; I just prefer using my cameras.
