I am retired and live in Australia's second largest city, Melbourne. To be more specific, I live in Northcote in the inner north of Melbourne and have been here for over 40 years after "migrating" from the rural communities I lived in during my childhood and early adulthood (and to which I return whenever I can)

I do not pretend to be the world's best photographer but love capturing the range of people and scenes I encounter in my daily wanderings. I am passionate about both rural and urban Australia with ancient landscapes and fascinating but much less ancient cityscapes. I enjoy sharing images of the land that I so love with the Flickr community and hope they provide interest and enjoyment. I also enjoy capturing more exotic places on my occasional trips outside Australia.

My current camera is now a Canon EOS 5D, Mark IV and I use Canon EF lenses: 16-35 mm f4, 24-105 mm f4, 50 mm f1.2, 70-200mm f2.8, and 100mm f2.8 macro plus an RF 24-240 mm f4-6.3 . I have two Tamron telescopic lenses: 70-300 mm f4.5-6.3 and 150-600 mm f5-6.3. I am also trying out a Canon EOS R5 to see whether i go down the mirrorless path.

I nearly always shoot in RAW and do a pretty light touch development of my photos in Lightroom then creating a basic frame in Photoshop prior to posting on this site.
