Thanks to all who have taken the time to look at and/or comment on my photos--I welcome and appreciate all comments and constructive criticism!
If you are curious, most landscape photos were taken with a Nikon D80, D90, or D7000; a Nikon 12-24 mm lens; and a Gitzo tripod with Merkins ballhead. A few photos were taken with a Nikon 18-200 VR lens. I used a Nikon 80-400 vr lens for most of the wildlife photos. I also use Singh-Ray graduated neutral density filters for most of my photos. I know practically nothing about HDR processing. In addition, the Singh-Ray Vari-ND filter has proven to be a wonderful tool: it's expensive, but I recommend it highly. FInally, nearly everything was processed using Nikon Capture NX and/or Adobe Photoshop CS2 to try to make the image resemble what I actually saw. However, nothing can replace the visual magic of being there!

I was delighted when my good friend Dave finally joined Flickr - even though he uses a Nikon! His passion for all things outdoors comes through in his wonderful photgraphs, many of which were taken on grand journeys to the wilderness, a place he knows so very well. Check out his photostream and you'll see what I mean. I have been thankful for our many travels to remote mountaintops and other places over the years. His encouraging and upbeat attitude on sometimes painful epics has always served as an inspiration for me. Cheers!
