I was born in Sherwood Nottingham and after going to Manchester University where I managed to get a degree in Chemical Engineer I returned to Nottingham to take a job with Boots as an Engineer. I must have enjoyed it because I retired 5 years ago after 36 years service.

I began taking photographs properly when I was at Uni but some low llife stole my camera - a Halina Electric !! - which set me back for quite a while. Marriage took over and when our first child was born I thought I should pick the threads up again

Having started on the road with a Canon AE1 which still works I have become a dedicated Canon enthusiast progressing from film to digital currently using a 7D and a 5D Mk2

My main photographic intererests are landscapes, seascapes and the natural world although the birth of our first grandson in Feb 2010 and 2nd grandson in January 2012 expanded my normal interests. I would really like to improve my bird photography but that needs some serious glass and even more serious money so it may have to wait
