I've been a birder for over 50 years and took my first bird photo in 1976 when I photographed a House Sparrow with a Zenith B through a telescope. The rise of digital cameras has been great and I was keen on digiscoping although now I mainly concentrate on Canon SLR's and a telephoto lens.

If you see me out in the field then I will usually be with my wife, Alison. We rarely leave North Norfolk but lots of birds come to us. Our garden list includes Dark-eyed Junco, Red-footed Falcon, Common Crane, Red Kite and lots of other goodies.

My first overseas trip was to Kenya in 1995. I could only afford 1x36 roll of colour slide film per day. On the recent Colombia trip I took just over 4,000 images, mainly low quality. :-(
