The flickr world is all the better for having Dave in it. He is obviously a talented and creative photographer with a sharp eye for composition, texture, light and french women. But what often goes unnoticed are his countless other talents. For example, he handcrafts fine cheeses (if you've never had his barrel-aged applewood gouda, you're really missing out) and cobbles wooden clogs in the traditional Dutch style. A five-time European motorcross champion, he held the post of mayor of Donegal unopposed for twelve years until stepping down in 2002 to pursue his true passion, sumo wrestling. Yes, Dave is not a just great photographer. He is a man of the world who also takes great photos. Oh, and he turns into a big Nancy around kittens.

We're really, really surprised that we're the first to show appreciation to what we consider to be a wonderful photographer. I bet you're cringing while reading this, but it has to be said, while you and the infamous Wrinkles O'Toole have been away in the 'Dam', we have missed our daily fix of your latest uploads onto Flickr. You have made us look at our 'Pretty Shitty City' in a completely new light. You have made us wonder with delight at our neighbouring county Donegal. And you have a wonderful ability to add fiction to photo with one snap of your finger. Thank You Plastic Jesus (although I prefer Dangerous Dave) and keep us inspired.
