As it's a few years old I thought I'd update my profile....

I live in Greenwich (No surprise there) and I am now an official OAP.

Try to exercise each day by walking the dog and combine this with photography hence the photos. I suppose I would class myself as a happy snapper, not really one for the arty type of thing but have a dabble now and again.

Always been interested in photography but in the past the price of developing etc limited my efforts and it has only been in the last few years, with the availability of digital cameras, that I have taken it up again.

Bit of an update.....

2014 hasn't been the best year so far as just before Christmas (2013) I was diagnosed with Prostrate Cancer so after further tests I was admitted to Guy's Hospital in February for a Robot Assisted Radical Prostratectomy (Complete removal of the prostate) plus removal of the right hand pelvic Lymph Nodes and some nerves.

Then around 6 weeks after that It was found that I had Skin Cancer in the form of a cancerous carcinoma on my head which luckily was a form of cancer that didn't spread so that was removed leaving me with a hole about the size of a 10p piece which is now healing over

So as I say not the best year so far and hoping the second half will be better.

That's about it really. So if you want to comment on any of my photos, message me with any observations or just for a chat then please do so. I'd love to hear from.

Jan-2015

After much deliberation I finally decided to buy a Leica M240 which has been an object of desire for a long time. Getting to grips with the rangefinder system hasn't been that bad but still early days.

July-2015

Finally decided to sell all of my existing camera equipment and managed to pick a pre-owned Leica Monochrom (Mk1) which had hardly been used - 690 actuations since new.

Brilliant camera.

May-2016

After buying the Leica Monochrom (Mk1) I've used little else and therefore parted company with the Leica M240 as it was just sitting in my storage bag - far too much money doing nothing.

If I want colour photos then I have the excellent Sony RX100M3 which takes up very little space in the camera bag and can be carried around in your pocket.

Sept-2016

As I've had no luck in selling my 4/3 lenses I've been trying out the Panasonic GX8 and GX80 to bridge the gap between my Leica M and Sony RX100M3. It gives me more lens choice and I'm able to use the Oly-45mm and the Pana-20mm, great lenses.

EDIT: Returned the both GX8 and GX80 as I couldn't get on with them - one too heavy and the other difficult to hold. I have now got the Olympus PEN-F. Excellent camera, a lot lighter, more comfortable in the hand and vast range of customisation.
