I live in the North West of England - my interest in photography started when I bought a Kodak Instamatic on holiday in Canada in 1969. My first SLR was a Zenit E which was the weight of a brick but great for learning the basics ! I later graduated onto a Fuji SLR before becoming a Canon convert in the 1980s..
My main subjects tend to be transport of any kind including cars which were once common but are now becoming rare and industrial heritage/interesting buildings under threat ( cinemas/pubs etc ) wherever they may be. I have been recording the very sad decline in pubs over the past couple of years but at least some do reopen and there is at least a record of the rest before they are lost forever !
I am currently working my way through a number of old albums and scanning interesting images from the past - these include my fathers WW2 photos as well as numerous images from the 1960s to 1980s - it will take some time but I enjoy browsing the albums and its far from a chore :-) As and when I get time I post the best of the images and hope that someone out there will enjoy them as much as I do !
I appreciate anyone taking the time to leave constructive comments on my photos but please do not leave any of those annoying flashing awards or they will be deleted . I also don`t like groups where you have to post 1 comment on 1 etc - so please don`t bother inviting me ! I try to limit the number of contacts I have as I haven`t the time to comment on everyones photos so don`t be offended if you add me as a contact and I don`t reciprocate :-).
In addition, as Flickr is meant to be interactive, please do not add one of my photographs to your favourites if you have no photos of your own or I will block you.
