Loved taking pictures as a young boy but could not afford it growing up on the prairies of Manitoba Canada. Joined the Navy and became a photographer there in the days of sheet film and Speed Graphic 4x5 cameras. Our first stobes, (flash units) weighed about 10 pounds, but they would reach about a hundred feet. I have also shot 8x10 sheet film in a studio.

Now graduated to digital after going through 35mm and 120 film and love it. More manipulation can be done than ever before and color photos are way, way cheaper.

No particular aspect of the hobby I like best. I like it all. Macro is what I am playing with at the moment.

All Canon gear except on big Tamron lens that does not get used a lot.

Mary Anne McNeney (who I have met personally one time) is a favourite of mine. It was because of her photos I joined Flickr. Thanks Mary Anne.
