some people have been curious as to why i choose the pseudonym Datura, as for that; it's a genus of flower, sort of, a hallucinogenic thing that causes you to perceive differently among other things it is a food for moths ( the harbingers of the dead) and has other shamanic properties. I've never tried it, i don't advise you do, however get some information; and see why, if you know me, i identify with it so well...

 

My goal is to take what i see, think. and feel, create it, mold it, change it, evolve it, then air it out.

 

each piece (some of it is art for art's sake) is a thought, an idea,, a conflict, a problem, or a solution. my concern is how it affects you, how it inspires you, or what thoughts/emotions/experiences it stirrs within you.

 

Art makes people think. It can offend or entice, it can summon a memory or a subtle emotion. the mind's eye is always open to ideas.

 

Like trying not to read what is around you, it is nearly impossible to be unaffected by what you see...

 

Art has a way of getting past your preconceptions, to the core of you. Good art can inspire you. Great art changes the way you think and feel.

 

Art can hold a monopoly. It is a universal language, and it gets inside you, moves around, and makes you wonder.

 

Try to read the captions after you've seen the work,

if you have a change of heart, my apologies, since my vision has created an affront.

 

Keep in mind my message is my own, it's your message that is important.

 

what you see is never what you get. What you see is your perception, and perception begets reality.

 

In my own art, If i get you thinking, then i have achieved my goal.
