There is much playfulness, as well as a very serious take on the art of photography, and it is natural to blurt a "wow" when a particular photo of hers shows up on your screen. You can consider a "dare" that it will happen to you. Besides, with all of her subjects (nicely including herself), this can never be boring and it will challenge what you know... or thought you knew.

Daria is one of the three chief influences on my photography full stop. She manages to find beauty in darkness and makes the painful and ordinary quite extraordinary with rich tones and perspectives that are so straightforward you wonder why you haven't tried them yourself. An inspiration - I haven't yet found a better city photographer on Flickr, and I strongly recommend her work.
