This wonderful hobby all started when I was a teen snapping black & white pictures with a Kodak X-15 instamatic camera & then developing them the old fashion way, in a dark room!

My first 35mm camera & close up lens was built from a science optics kit. Everything was plastic but it worked!

Fast forward many years later & just as many instamaticlike cameras later & here I am!

Photgraphy & ham radio, I love both hobbies dearly.

Although both were introduced to me at roughly the same time in the 70's as a teen. At that time I couldn't afford much in the way of equipment for either back then, I promised myself to revisit each later which I did on a grand scale starting with passing the ham radio exam in 1980,

it was not as easy to pass as it is today since they now need the numbers. I failed the morse code test the first time around with a 99% copy on receive! It had to be 100% & I made a spelling correction on a mistake they made that cost me dearly. The other 2 portions were theory which consisted 12 questions, you picked 10 to answer in essay form then rules & regulations which was multiple choice, you had to achieve 75% correct for each. I traveled for 3+ hours one way to Toronto to get the final pass. No wonder it's my favourite, I earned it! lol

Photography didn't get seriously revived until my wife got into it & progressed into more advanced cameras after the initial purchase of a Sony point & shoot. There was a good Canon camera at this point sitting on the shelf collecting dust now...practically begging to be used.

After many months of encouragement from Sue, I finally picked it back up & the rest is history, I was back in the hobby seriously after a 25+ year hiatus!
