I have led photography tours and workshops in Grand Teton Park, Yellowstone and beyond. I have led tours in Europe, Asia and Africa. My book "The Grand Teton Photography and Field Guide” is a book I have published. “Rocky Mountain Cowboy; an endangered species” is nearly complete. My coffee table book “Window On The Wilderness; Greater Yellowstone” needs to be split into 2 books because of printing costs. I write because I have something to say, I make photos because photography makes me live a beautiful life. I teach photography because it helps people walk in beauty.
Walking in beauty wasn't always photography, I once was a dog-sled racer in Alaska, trail horses in Wyoming and Idaho, and I once used to follow my fly rod around wherever it wanted to go.
Guiding National Park tours, fly-fishing trips, snowmobile trips, dog-mushing trips, horseback rides, and wildlife safaris have all been part of the journey.

Anyone looking for a photographer to guide you through Grand Teton National Park or Yellowstone Natonal Park need not look any further than Daryl Hunter. Daryl's work speaks for itself and his work as an experienced guide is every bit as good. I spent an entire day with Daryl pounding the wilderness looking to see and photograph as much variety of wild game as I could and Daryl did not disapoint. We saw elk, moose, brown bear, black bear, birds of prey, mule deer, antelope, bison, bighorn sheep, a pine martin, and probably some more than I am forgetting. The only thing I did not get to see were wolves but that was not from a lack of effort on Daryl's part -- he took me to where the wolf watchers were but the wolves did not cooperate. If you are heading to Jackson Hole and want to see the parks with an friendly, professional guide who knows photography and wildlife, do yourself a favor and contact Daryl.

Daryl photographs an area that I still call home and that is dear to my heart, even though I now live in Alaska, a place that is close to Daryl's heart. Daryl captures images of a lifestyle that I once knew and lived. It is always a pleasure to be able to look at his images and recall how sweet life once was. Daryl's images makes me want to do it all over again. He brings out the luster and beauty of the land that I love. Through Daryl's images one can see the beauty of a way of life that few ever get to live. Thank God that Daryl and I are living it. Keep those images coming my friend. "BUCK"
