My love affair with photography began when my parents gave me a Minolta X-700 for high school graduation.

It's funny, some of my first photos were of the tv. I would use the end of our couch as a tripod and frame a close shot of the tv screen and snap photos of rockers like David Lee Roth and Billy Squire as if I were at the concert.

Soon I went the local community college and took every photography class they offered. When I wasn't out shooting, I was in the photography lab at school. It was the coolest thing to see the image fade up on the paper.

Sadly, my relationship with photography ended for while when my camera was stolen out of my car after a road trip in 1987. No photography for over a decade.

I bought my first digital camera in 1999, a FujiFilm MX-2900. It was nice to see the image instantly and have it in a digital format, but I missed the manual control and the quick shutter that I had with my Minolta 35mm.

Then in 2008, after 21 years, the photography romance was back on and hotter than ever when I finally got another SLR, my Nikon D80. Back to the local community college again to take most every photography class offered.

I like simple, unusual, dramatic images. Mainly, I'm just playin'. ;)
