I'm a Canadian expatriate now living in Portland, Oregon, USA. I moved here in 2000 to pursue my career in Software Engineering... ended up finding much, much more!

I found the love of my life and married her in 2004. We have two children: our son, Hayden and our daughter, Addison.

I bought my first digital SLR (Canon Digital Rebel XT) in the fall of 2005 and have been snapping pix whenever I get the chance. This past summer of 2008, I finally upgraded to a Canon 50D, and absoutely LOVE IT.

As previously stated, I am a software developer by trade, but my initial area of focus was in Biotechnology, earning myself a Bachelors of Science degree in Biology. I ended up getting rather, well, "bored" working in a lab, and it just so happened that this thing called "the World Wide Web" was really taking off around the time I was looking for a change. So, I went back to school, learned how to program (web and database technologies) and voila, got the call to come to the USA to build websites.

I've continued down the "geek-path", having worked for various technology companies in the Portland-area.

I'm pretty much a "Jack-of-All-Trades", and my interests are as varied as plants in a rain forest. When I'm not slamming away on my keyboard pounding-out code, I'm slamming away on my keyboard experimenting with Digital Audio Mixing, Digital Video Editing and, of course, Digital Photography. I also play guitar, piano and have been known to belt out a few licks on the Blues Harp (harmonica). Love hockey (hey, I'm Canadian, eh?!), volleyball, golf, baseball, bowling and also have an affinity to the more "games room" sports like table tennis, foozball and darts. I've studied Aikido (brown-belt), dabbled in Caligraphy and at one point in my life, solved the Rubik's Cube in under 2 mins.

I continually strive to take my creativity to the next level, and appreciate the creativity in others (why I love flickr so much!). I'm thoroughly addicted to the Explore pages!

Thank you to all my fellow "flickr-ites" for sharing your wonderful moments and endeavours.
