The vertical dance project was started in 1995 by the choreographer Wanda Moretti and the musician Marco Castelli. It is a project that integrates movement, sound and the environment, it is the relationship between man and space, starting from the concept that everything is movement. In constant transformation the choreographical and spatial structure and the musical and acoustical choices merge with the environment where they are being performed, resulting in ever-changing performances that are always unique. In its entirety space is part of the event, making it the only place possible. Over the years, Il Posto, the only vertical dance company in Italy, has developed choreographical creations, dancing on building façades, bridges, towers, cloisters, historic palaces but also in theatres and on industrial sites, taking part in prestigious Festivals both in Italy and abroad Singapore Arts Festival, Lugar a Dança Lisbona, Silkeborg Performer House- Denmark, FoolsFestival of Belfast, Mittelfest, Red Festival of Reggio Emilia, Abano Danza, Primavera Scena Ancona, Volterrateatro, Bolzano Danza, Roma in Scena and others.

The site-specific performances of vertical dance by Il Posto Company have the characteristic of changing traditional observation standards, by going beyond the institutional image of dance, creating its own aesthetics and an extended potential of the body and architecture, that acts as an ‘amplifier’ of the spatial and corporeal experience of a place.
