Amateur photograph. Professionally I work with materials chemistry research and analytical methods in the context of nuclear waste storage technology.

I love taking bright shots with short DOF, portraites, nature, abstract etc (favourite lenses here are Nikkor 50 mm 1.2, Takumar 50 mm 1.4 and Canon 85 mm 1.2 L II using my Canon 5D). Also love experimenting with ultra-fast short-back-focus industrial lenses used in the 1950-1960s in medical x-ray visualisation systems, such as Rodenstock 50 mm 0.75 and 65 mm 0.75, Rodenstock 75 mm 1.1 and Kowa 55 mm 1.0, I prefer to use these with the NEX-5.
Also loves Telephoto with catadioptic mirror lenses such as Tamron SP 350 and 500 mm, ZM-5A and ZM-6A 500 mm f/6.3 mainly using my Canon 550d. I also got a refractor telescope (1000 mm, f/8) and I experiment taking astrophotographic shots with this one, mainly the moon and jupiter so far. I hope to learn more about auto-guided long exposure shots.
My third area I love is experimenting with macro and microphotography using macro lenses, microscopes, reversed lenses and extension tubes in various combinations. Macro lenses I use are 60 mm 2.8 EF-S and 100 mm 2.8 L with IS. My microscope is an old communist MBS-10 from Soviet Russia.
I have recently started to shoot some film using Pentax 67 (medium format 6x7) and Canon EOS 300 (35 mm). The goal is to evaluate what film can do for me that the digital systems cant.
