When I started capturing macro photographs in 2007, it was only out of curiosity for the world around me. I never expected my pictures to be seen by anyone besides myself and perhaps a few close friends and family members. Since that time, my photographs have been used in dozens of print publications, educational exhibits, and natural history museum displays around the world.
All of my macro photographs are taken free hand, without a tripod, in the natural environment and exact location in which the subject is found. I like to see, and show, these amazing creatures exactly as the exist in the world.
I also enjoy art and landscape/cityscape photography, so you will likely see some of these types of photographs in my photostream.
I currently capture my images using a Canon 60D along with a variety of Canon and Tamron lenses. For macro I utilize a Canon 100mm macro and a 430EX flash. Images before 2013 were captured using a Canon Rebel XTi.
