I enjoy going to the same place every year for holidays. Since I’ve been there before I always know what to do when I get there. Unfortunately when I get there I often want to return home again because I miss my lounge, my TV, my cups and my fridge. I love being no more than two body rolls away from my fridge. If something is more than two body rolls away it’s not worth having. I love familiarity. That’s why I like talking about myself.

In a world moving faster I crave familiarity; the sounds of magpies, lawn mowers, the far off noises of junior sport being carried across backyards by stiff southerlies, wedding bells ringing in religious spires, the rustle of a morning newspaper, crashing shore-break, anything that reminds me of where I’ve been. Of course a by-product of familiarity is stagnation and my pond does smell a little stagnate of late.
