What I find so astonishing about Danielle is that she always seems to have some sort of plan, inspiration for her next great photograph. She never seems to run out of incredible ideas. My personal opinion about what makes a photographer so talented is not the fancy camera's and equipment but the ability to look outside the box and always be able to come up with new extraordinary ideas which inspire all of us out here! I was a painter first. Then a printmaker. Finally I became a wanna-be photographer. There are many photographers who eschew the potential of manipulation of digital imagery. They lift their nose at such thoughts. Do they not understand that painters have been manipulating what they see in pigment for centuries to elicit feelings from viewers? Danielle has no such mental restrictions on what she does. She not only manipulates, but she turns photographic images into works of art. Yes, art. How few photographers ever reach that lofty plane, of having their work seen as art by painters and printmakers. I'll give a hint from the oily stinky side of the fence........ Not too damned many. Not even the famous ones through history. Why? Many photographers limit themselves by their own pretensions and prejudices. Or, they go too far in the other direction and turn extraordinary images into trash by forcing the same HDR crap on them over and again. Danielle does not do that. She uses PS as a tool, selecting her pixel altering instruments as a painter choses his brushes and colors. She applies them deftly to achieve the final image, an image that never existed before, an image that provokes, fulfills, and makes the viewer contemplate. Danielle's manipulation never, ever, overpowers the image, or the message she seeks to convey. Her photoshopping remains background music in a carefully constructed piece of visual theater, frozen in time and space. And her images do provoke, challenge, and whisper in the viewers ear. In this painter's mind, that elevates Danielle to the lofty perch of artist, and I would sit and have a brew and discuss art with her any evening. Plus she just freakin' rocks!

Hello Danielle... I just wanted to write a few words about how amazing you are !!! Hope you dont mind ;o) I first found Danielles photostream when I was browsing and searching for some inspiration..as you do ! and I stumbled across a certain photograph.. I remember very well.. it was of a lad in a rather cool hooded top ! And he was smoking ! I thought it was a pretty amazing shot.. the lighting the subject and the hoodie.. all spot on. And captured perfectly. Well I added Danielle as a contact there and then.. August 5th 09 ! And every single upload since that day has just been better and better.. I have no doubt that one day Danielle will be very famous for her horror portraits. I have never seen anything like them. They are by far the best pictures in this genre on the internet. She has amazing photography skills and knows how to get the best out of her models and to back this up she has fantastic processing skills to turn her pictures into brilliant works of art !
