I never used a camera of any sort until March 06 when I got a Fuji E900, so I guess I'm still new to it. I had mostly been involved with music (which I continue) for 8 years before photography. I like all sorts of art, but photography has become special to me.

For me is a gentle love. No matter where I am in life, I see beautiful moments around me, and they remind me what life is and keep me going. I still don't really think about form or try for it too much, it is just a very natural thing for me to put in a photo these moments I see. Sometimes they find me, sometimes I go search for them, but photography is the way for me to cherish and share them.

All of my photos before Feb 08 were taken with a Fuji E900. However, I got a Canon AE-1 Program and I am very excited to get into film. I will use the Canon while saving up for my dream camera, a Voigtlander Bessa R4, then perhaps after that I will expand into medium format. However, I have been so inspired by people on Flickr and I realize how much I can grow and experiment. Film may not be the best for as much experimenting and practice as I want to do, so I might get a DSLR.

I live in central Illinois and would like to move either to mountains or oceans, maybe both. Jesus Christ is my Lord, Savior, greatest love, and friend. I desire to plant churches and encourage the use of art in worship and development of community. I might be working in Mexico from late Feb-June and I'm not sure whether or not I'll be able to put the photos I take there onto Flickr until I am back.
