Dan's work is sublimely beautiful. In particular, I love his photographs of Maine, as they have a kind of quietly wild, untouched beauty. I am also particularly partial to his medium format work, as he has a way of "seeing" with those cameras that resounds with me... seeing, that is, into the heart of things, into the essence of a place.
