Sonia here ... and I am extremely excited to begin my journey as "dandelyne". I have just opened my first shop on ETSY and I have HUUUUUUUUUUGE plans for 2012. My passion is for embroidery, applique and all things colourful!

It has taken me some time but I have finally given myself permission to indulge in my desire to become a crafty entrepreneur ... WOOP WOOP! At the very young age of 36, with 5 inspiring boys by my side (big, small and furry), I feel I am ready to share, celebrate and deliver … OH YEAH!

My hope/dream/desire is to design and create colourful embroidered pieces that will enter the lives of many … you! I want to make you smile, laugh and giggle by viewing or owning one of my handmade pieces. I want to warm the cockles of your heart knowing that you have purchased or viewed a unique piece, made by me, with 100% love.

Now I am a sucker for all things colourful, and in particular, fabric. I am not bias when it comes to choice of fabric. If something tickles my fancy I jump on it. It doesn’t matter, to me, whether it is from an op shop, online store or a local market. I always choose fabrics based on the feeling I get … usually excitement. Most times I can only afford to buy a small amount so many of my pieces will be limited editions :-D. AND … I absolutely love sewing within a hoop. It is meditative and therapeutic … I definitely recommend having a go! My goal, for early 2012, is to spread the love so many can experience it. Watch this space for mini embroidery hoop necklaces and brooches, and sewing kits …. YIPPEE! Pictures galore once my idea comes to fruition.

I am a self confessed perfectionist and always expect the highest of standards so every piece is made to ensure that I am 100% happy. It’s all about the detail … yes siree! It is imperative that each piece comes from the centre of my being … receiving a 100% “dandelyne” stamp of approval!

So at the early stages of my business, actually the beginning, I have begun by exploring, playing and stitching my love of funny words and cute little people whom I have crossed paths with at one time in my life. I hope you like them as much as I do.
