His achievements are much deserved. His latest trip to China underscores his absolute dedication and determination in very dangerous situations to capture images that are truly amazing and provide a different perspective on landscape imagery. I was so, so fortunate to stumble across Dan's work here in Flickr several months back. And I must admit, it was love at first sight. Dan is, by far, one of my greatest inspirations of late. His talents move far beyond mere "landscape photography". Every one of his images tells a magnificent story and evokes such raw feeling and passion; you find yourself lost inside of them. He has an amazing, rare talent. Only a few, in my opinion, are blessed with such gifts and his images show just how far he taps into that. That, and alot of hard work, which clearly doesn't seem to phase him a bit. And this, to me, is exactly what a photographer needs to have to be successful. Dan has been so supportive of others here on Flickr; to hear him talk about his work and his family is always inspirational for me. Dan always seems to read exactly what I'm trying to "write" with my camera. He freely shares his experiences and knowledge and isn't afraid to share his failures as well. I tap into his page quite often and always walk away refreshed and ready to pick up my camera once again. I often suffer from "vision block" and visiting Dan's site always gives me inspiration and fresh ideas. And I have to say a very big "Thank You" for that. Truly, a man with amazing talent and gifts.

What really impresses me is the amount of time he takes going through everyone's streams and gives real and sincere feedback. It's always more than the proverbial, "Nice one!" or "Great capture". He actually looks at your photos showing he not just here to boost his own ego. His work is a daily inspiration and I learn tremendously seeing how he composes his work. I look forward to each new shot. I've never met Dan, but he's one of my favorite Flickr friends. If I ever travel into his neck of the woods I'll definitely take one of his workshops.

It was an amazing trip, and I learned a lot about light, composition, and ND filters! Dan is an amazingly interesting person and has been influenced by his travels all around the world. His work is some of the best I've seen...and he has several "Jaw-Dropping" once in a lifetime shots. I look forward to seeing photos from his future travels, and hope I will have the chance to shoot with him again!

I recently spent the day with Dan Ballard. He is the real deal. He not only takes breathtaking shots, but he knows how to teach others how to do the same thing. I chose Dan to present a private workshop on landscape photography because I love his work on Flickr and on his website, danballardphotography.com. I was not disappointed. I learned a lot from Dan, He has an easy to understand style and takes the time to explain many other aspects about making your photos marketable. I truly enjoyed the lessons and the company of Dan Ballard. I would encourage anyone to take part in one of his workshops, it is well worth the investment. Thanks Dan for a great day!!

I'm absolutely shocked that I'm the first person to write a testimony for Dan, but at the same time I'm happy I'll be the first. Dan's photography spans places all over the globe that most of us hope to one day visit or live. The colors, emotions and amazing details present in his photos astound me. Has he been discovered by National Geographic yet? Because this guy seriously has a natural talent when it comes to focusing in on the beautiful aspects of the world around us. Going through his photos again I realize that there's not a single one I find uninteresting or not pleasing to an eye. All of his works share a story or great experience and that's a quality I find many others lack in their images.
