I used to be a Pro member, but my ISP cancelled it's agreement with flickr. 2019- Trimmed my photos to under 1,000.

Most of what I post is for simple sharing with my friends so try and just look at my popular pics.

I am a busy father raising 4 daughters, so my range of captures are limited. In my spare time I try to keep up with learning as much as I can about of image creation, capture, modification, storage, and retrieval methods and techniques. The Flickr community has been a great source of inspiration. Thank-you all!

My older brother is a talented photographer and I grew up helping him around his darkroom, but I much prefer the digital processing environment as I am more computer oriented in nature. My older sister is also very handy with her DSLR, but she is way too busy these days.

Anyways, all of this is just one of my many hobbies competing for a slice of my limited time when I'm not otherwise studying something else!

I think I have GAS and LBA... (* favoured)

My digital cameras are:

Kodak DX3900 - still works well, pleasing colors

Kodak P880 - rediscovering it's versatility with inexpensive accessories. Loaned out.

Kodak Z1275 - battery hog, but does exposure bracketing

Kodak Z980 - love the uber zoom

Fujifim FinePix Z20fd - nice and small

Fujifim FinePix Z33WP - beer proof

Olympus E-510 - decent older DSLR with plenty of control

* Sony NEX-5 - nice and compact; needs a mode dial

Sony ILCE-3000 - nice sensor and inexpensive

Sony ILCE-5000 - great features, wifi too slow. Gave it away.

Panasonic DMC-L1 - still to test

Sample picture using my lens: (* favourite or most used)

Bushnell 200mm f/3.5

* Canon FD 28mm f/2.8 SC - still testing

* Canon FDn 28mm f/2.8 - still testing

* Canon FL 35mm f/2.5 - I like the front aperture ring when wearing mitts

* Canon FD 50mm f/1.4 S.S.C Prime Lens - great portraiture lens

Canon FD 50mm f/1.8 Prime Lens - still testing; I always reach for the f/1.4 first...

Five Star 500mm f/8 Tele Lens - can be sharp with tripod or even handheld - with practice

Image MC Automatic 28mm f/2.8

Image MC Automatic 135mm f/2.8

Image Auto 80-200mm f/4.5

JC Penney (Makinon) 135mm f/2.8 Macro - untested but supposedly sharp

Kiron 24mm f/2 lens

Kiron 70-210mm f/4.5 Macro Lens

Kiron MD 80-200mm f/4.5 Macro Lens MC

Minolta AF Zoom 28-80mm f/3.5-5.6

Minolta Maxxum AF Zoom 35-105mm f/3.5-4.5

Minolta MD Rokkor-X 50mm f/1.7 - loaned out

Minolta AF Maxxum 50mm f/1.7 - great lens that is now in the hands of an even greater friend and photographer

Minolta AF 70-210mm F4 (beercan) - Scored this for CDN$22 with a 450si body and a second copy $22

Minolta AF 100-200mm f/4.5 - odd range but works well enough in bright light

Minolta MD 135mm f/3.5 - still testing; it must be the focal length, because I never grab it.

Minolta AF 500mm f/8 - in transit.

* Nikon Nikkor P Auto 55mm f/3.5 Macro Lens - good macro and portraiture lens but a little short for my macro use and a very short throw for portraiture

Nikon Nikkor Q Auto 135mm f/3.5 Tele Lens - still testing; again, an odd length for me.

Nikon Nikkor 300mm f/4.5 - still testing. Some oddly harsh bokeh.

Opteka MC Mirror 500mm f/8 - smallest of several 500mm lens and light

Osawa 80-205mm 1:4.5 MC Macro MF Lens Nikon Ai - still testing

Ozunon MC 35-75mm f/3.5-4.8 - untested

Pentacon 3.5/30 - Untested

Pentacon 2.8/135 - The Bokeh Monster - Surprise find in a bargain shop - Untested

Pentax SMC M 28mm f/2.8 lens

Pentax SMC M 50MM f/1.4 lens - initial results promising, but having difficult time focusing accurately on objects 25' away at f/8.

Pentax SMC A 50mm f/2 lens

Asahi Opt. Co. SMC Takumar f/2 55mm prime lens - untested

Pentax SMC M 80-200 f/4.5 lens - appeared to be a nice lens; gave it away

Quantaray AF 28-90mm Macro Zoom Lens - still testing

Rikonon 12mm f/2.0

Sigma 30mm f/2.8 EX DN lens

Soligor 300mm f/4.5 telephoto lens - initial results are soft with CA, will have to stop down

Sony E 16mm f/2.8 Prime Lens - nice and small; used for panorama pictures

Sony E 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 Zoom Lens - decent walk around lens; soft edges at 55mm.

Sony DT 18-70mm f/3.5-5.6 - hopefully my new walk around lens to replace the SEL1855

Sony E 50mm f/1.8 Prime Lens

*Sony E 55-210mm f/4.5-6.3 Zoom Lens - still testing; some odd results at 210mm; generally good.

Tamron 28mm f/2.8 Prime Lens - still testing

Tamron AF 28-200mm f/3.8-5.6 (171D) - overall a decent inexpensive lens, sharp at f/8, but needs a hood, internal focusing means the focal length changes as you focus which is distracting (without practice), focus ring is thin and throw is too short for my liking.

Tamron AF 70-300mm f/4.0-5.6 Telezoom Lens - still testing, but initial samples are positive

* Tokina 500mm f/8.0 Mirror Lens - thin DoF of course, best in bright light and not more than 30ft out. DoF should be greater as subject is farther but peak focusing seems harder.

Vivitar (Cosina) 28mm f/2.8 lens

Vivitar (Komine) 28mm f/2.8 lens

Vivitar Series 1 (Komine) 28-90mm f/2.8-3.5 - the Stovepipe is sharp and good for closeups!

Vivitar (Tokina) Auto Wide 35mm f/2.8 lens - short throw to infinity

Vivitar (Kobori) 35-200mm f/3.0-4.5 Zoom 1:5 Macro Lens - ok manual walk around dumbbell; I got a mint copy so it looks great; someday I will try to squeeze out the best from this lens

Vivitar (Unknown) 50mm f/1.7 MC

*Vivitar (Cosina) 100mm AF Macro f/3.5 - plastic and wobbly, but sharp, inexpensive, and light

Vivitar (Komine) Auto 200mm f/3.5 telephoto lens - nice basic M42 lens; good results for the price; too long for my DSLR bag once the NEX adapter is added.

Vivitar (Tokina) 300mm f/5.6 telephoto lens - untested

Vivitar 400mm f/5.6 Tele Lens- nice to use but heavy; some noticeable CA

4/3 Mount

Olympus Zuiko 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 zoom lens - rarely used kit lens

Olympus Zuiko 40-150mm f/4-5.6 zoom lens - untested

*Olympus Zuiko 70-300mm f/4-5.6 zoom lens - great inexpensive birding lens with 600mm eqv,

Panasonic Leica D Vario-Elmarit 14-50mm F2.8-3.5 ASPH Mega OIS - very nice lens; feels good; takes great pictures; marginal image stabilization effect so I just use the E-510 in-body stabilizer

Wish/curiosity list:

Nikon Nikkor 180mm f/2.8 telephoto lens

Sigma 600mm f/8 mirror lens

Vivitar Series 1 "Bokina" (Tokina) 90mm F2.5 Macro
