IT guy by day, Dad by night & weekend. Somewhere in there is time for Photography and my growing passion for this medium. After years of taking snapshots, I have been focusing on taking my photography to a higher level.

This has become my release. What a perfect way to let the stress of life melt away -- take a long hike through the mountains (or wherever I may be) and feebly attempt to capture and preserve the wonders of nature.

I find myself thinking more and more about a shot (before the camera comes up to the eye!) and spending a lot of time in post-processing. I find the exercise of editing and working with my images to be a great teacher for the next trip out with the camera.

How I Use Flickr

Flickr is my playground. As I normally shot landscape and nature shots, I needed a place to post my expanded interests, such a portrait or challenge photography. I will still post landscape, etc. here, but the stream is becoming more diverse due to my goal of "pushing the envelope."

My equipment

I transitioned to a fully digital experience about 6 years ago. I have been a Nikon fan my entire life. My first SLR was a Nikon EM (yes, I still have it.) At some point, I would like to move from the DX format to a FX (Full Frame) format.

I have recently bought and started using a set of Extension Tubes to really get into the Macro experience. I also use an old Vivitar 283 flash, with radio triggers.
