Dan, I've been on flickr 18 months now and I've clicked through 1000's of pictures during that time. You have the ability to really stand out. Especially the pictures you take of animals are simply incredible. I just can't get enough of it. Keep up the great work, it's always a pleasure to see your new shots come up on… Read more

Dan is the first person I noticed on Flickr. His work is what got me excited and brought me back into photography that I had sadly left too many years ago. His work really ignited a passion for it and now thanks to Dan, I am totally in love with photography and Flickr. Dan's work is unique and stunning. His passion for the art shines brightly through every image. I love each and every one of his photos and cannot wait to see what he comes up with next. Along with his art, he is also one of the nicest people I have met on Flickr. His comments on my photos are always a joy to read and inspire me.

I have just spent about ten minutes staring at Dan's most recent upload and it occurs to me that I've found myself suspended in the incredible moments that Dan captures on many, many occasions. Dan has incredible talent that I have joyously scrutinized and learned from. On numerous occasions, I have found myself thinking about how to improve the technical aspects of my images, such as color and composition, and I so often turn to Dan's photos to see how he has so effectively created his art. But Dan's incredible skill at creating technically astounding images mearly scratches the surface of why I consider him one of the most inspiring photographers I have seen. Technical skill means very little unless it is used to convey depth and emotion. Dan's images are full of an evocative love for his environment. As a viewer, I constantly sense that Dan is tuned in to the world around him with a vibrancy and passion that is a true source of inspiration. For example, looking over his images of the animals he encounters, one cannot help but recognize that Dan has a rich respect for these subjects. Whether expressing innocence and longing on the face of a stray dog, or the powerful expreression of fear that beams from the hairs of a horse under an approaching storm, Dan's images connect with the stories and feelings of the animals he shoots. As a photographer, he carries this rich talent with him into numerous environments. By returning to this stream time after time, I have begun to see a whole world of images that invite the viewer to participate in the moments they capture. A sense of comraderey in a tavern over a pint of beer, the continuous love of rural Austria and Europe, and a respect for the richness of sculpture can all be found repeatedly through these images. If you are new to Dan's stream, stick around. As new images emerge, Dan's talent wil bring you into a voluminous world that you will be privliged and grateful to participate in.
