From capturing the dynamic energy of high school sports to photographing the serene beauty of nature, my lens has been my lifelong storyteller. My journey in photography began in 1993 with traditional film at the Ohio Institute of Photography and the University of Dayton. Those early days in the darkroom taught me patience, precision, and a deep respect for the art—I can still smell the fixer.

I served proudly as a U.S. Navy Photographer’s Mate, photojournalist, and visual information supervisor for 16 years, where I captured historic moments, supported global missions, and even served as the Navy’s photo editor, curating imagery for Navy.mil and the National Archives. Now, as the President of Velarium Works LLC, I combine my visual storytelling expertise with cutting-edge digital asset management to help organizations unlock the full potential of their creative content.

My photography today is deeply personal, yet always informed by a keen sense of brand and style awareness developed over decades of working with diverse clients. I specialize in high school athletics, nature, aviation, space, and nautical events—captured in a vibrant photojournalistic style that tells authentic stories. Whether documenting the triumphs of student-athletes or highlighting the unique essence of a brand, I ensure every image resonates with its intended audience.
