I've been taking photographs since an ex-girlfriend's dad gave me a 1980's Russian Zenit about 18 years ago. I loved the no-nonsense physicality of it and especially the definite 'clunk' as the shutter released.

I've since experimented with a variety of fancier cameras and lenses; up to modern DSLRs. But I have just never been able to take a good image with any of them. There's something in my psychology that needs the obstacles and surprise of an old film SLR with prime lens.

Nowadays, I love taking photos with my Pentax MG or ME Super 35mm SLRs. I love every part of it (except the expense of developing!)

I generally take either colour film that I send off for processing (Kodak Portra NC is wonderful!) or black and white (mostly Ilford FP4) that I process myself and scan at home.

Constructive criticism is most welcome.
