Hi!
My name is Dale and I am a female architect and art teacher married to David, an engineer. We have two lovely daughters, Melissa and Heather.
I currently teach art at a private Christian school and in a private art studio, where my students are primarily home schooled. The students range in age from 7 to 15 years. Most of my students are in middle school.
I came in the back door teaching art, as this was never the plan. When I saw my friend's children winning awards at the fair, I thought I would get mine involved. Little did I know how well they would do, both winning numerous prizes, including Grand Champion! After about 3 years of winning, I decided to give teaching a whirl. I really enjoy the children and helping them become successful.
I am an architect registered in the state of Maryland; obtaining my license in 1985 (my age is showing). I have a Master’s Degree in Architecture and practiced for 15 years, devoting 21 years of my life to the profession. I love architecture and hope to impart some of that knowledge to my art students… including the design process and visualizing in three dimensions. During this season of my life I have decided to teach art so I can spend more time with my family.
In addition to art, we really like athletics. In July of 2010, both my girls were able to participate in the Trampoline and Tumbling Junior Olympics! Now, if you really want to know how crazy it is around here, we have a family band.
