Dream as if you’ll live forever – Live as if you’ll die today! - James Dean
As long as I can remember I have been intrigued by photography, but I never understood any of it. To be honest, I still feel pretty clueless at times.
I bought my first camera when I was in my 30s. So, you could say I am a late bloomer when it comes to photography.
I joined flickr in June 2005 just to share some photos with friends and family. After a while I got sucked in, became part of the community, joined groups, added contacts and made some friends.
In 2008 I bought a new camera, a Panasonic DMC-FZ18. Yeah, I know, a bridge camera! Why? Because I did not feel grown-up enough to buy and own a DSLR.
Anyway, since I bought the FZ18 my photos and the way I feel about photography started to change.
At first I experimented with all the settings and that was a fun thing to do. Right now I seem to be going through a different stage all together. I am trying to create images that are different and I am not sure what to call them yet. Although some call them Art, to me they are just photos, experiments & artsy-fartsy stuff. I still feel like I have a lot to learn, to experiment, to create and some growing up to do.
Who knows, maybe one day I will be grown up enough to own a DSLR.
