(1985) Born in San Francisco, CA, Shaun Whitworth has a Degree in Photography with a minor in Anthropology from Texas State University. He is classically trained in traditional Black and White, old methods such as cyanotypes to gum oils, and new age digital methods in “stitched portraits.” At a young age, architecture, landscape, and family road trips played a great influence in his life and work. Photographers like Michael Kenna and Fay Goodwin also helped build his passion in photography. These influences allowed me look at the world differently. As an observer of the world, photography allows him to create dramatic imagery while giving a powerful look into the lives of his subjects.

His passion is being outside, away from the computer, with no lighting equipment, and getting back to the roots of photography that were his original inspiration. This limitation is very liberating and allows him to expand on his craft
