I am a paper and scissors collage artist. I create all of my original collages using the traditional method in which everything is cut and pasted by hand. I cut images from damaged books and magazines. It's my way of preserving and giving a second life to unique bits of pop culture history that would otherwise be discarded and forgotten.

My collages are featured in the suites on the cruise ship TUI Mein Shiff 4. They were also part of the Reese's Puffs Cereal mashup project. They have been published in Cosmetic Surgery: A Feminist Primer; Tubby Book; and Plateform Magazine.

My collages have been exhibited in a variety of shows including a solo show at The Grind in Chicago, IL. Group shows include the "Centenary of Collage" exhibition at Arison Gallery in Manchester, UK; the "Odditorium Detroit" exhibition at District VII Gallery in Detroit, MI; "The Postal Collage Project" in San Francisco and Berkeley, CA; Ginger Fox Gallery in Dallas, TX; Dormalou Project in Houston, TX; the Danforth Gallery in Livingston, MT; the Texas Association of Interior Designers' Art Show in Houston, TX; and "Tiny Show" and "Nope Show" and Texas Art Asylum in Houston, TX.

I only recently discovered Michelle but already I own a few of her original works. She is undoubtedly a talented collagist who draws from numerous sources for her inspiration. I look forward to viewing, and maybe even aquiring, more of your equisite works Michelle.

Michelle's work is always so fresh -both ways ;) and makes you think. But even better is the fact that it ALWAYS puts a smile on your face~ Your pieces will easily stand the test of time.

Michelle is an extremely talented artist who puts a touch of quirky humor into her artwork. I love her mix of nostalgia and euphemisms--sometimes her work really makes you do a double-take. Keep the great work coming, Michelle! I can't wait to see what you come up with next!
