DAB Specialises in the digitisation and preservation of historical documents.

DAB was founded in 2017 in the Melbourne suburb of Williamstown, a suburb that is filled to the brim with history. Williamstown was Melbourne’s first major port, operating throughout the Gold Rush and moving from strength to strength ever since. DAB has the rather ambitious goal of digitising the records of every institution of Williamstown and surrounding suburbs and bring the community’s history into the 21st Century.

With over 14 years in the creative industry, including time as a product photographer and photographic retoucher in the fashion, beauty, real estate and retail industries, as well as almost 10 years of interest in genealogy, this is a role that I am very passionate about.

Using photographic techniques to minimise any damage and unnecessary handling of these often very fragile documents, we convert the documents into PDF files and individual JPG and TIFF images, allowing them to be browsed and referred to, and keeping the original documents safely stored away and safe from excessive handling.

Of course, DAB is not limited to Williamstown and its surrounding suburbs. Wherever you are located, I would be more than happy to discuss my services with you.
