I'm a Brit who moved to Switzerland (Geneva area) in the early 70's. I was sent into early retirement in 2006 and I'm loving every minute of it.

I saved up for my first camera around the age of 12

and I have been snapping ever since. Mostly poor quality "tourist" stuff - looking at my photo-stream I'm not sure this has changed much . I acquired a cast-off P&S digital camera in March 2006 and chose a Canon 350D soon after as my retirement present.

I've found the digital revolution very liberating - no more worry about the cost of a shot (please, Please, PLEASE don't anyone tell me that's not true - I know, but I don't want to hear it!) - I can experiment & do silly things like "guess what I shot". All I need now is the discernment to throw away 99% of what I shoot.

Besides boring people with my photos, I take a active part in theatre and classical vocal music.
