I am an ecologist who studies how everyday human activities like wildlife feeding influence infectious disease dynamics. I work in the field (Peru, Belize) and at the computer (mathematical models). Perhaps owing to my career choice, I'm especially interested in macrophotography and the world of small things. In the same light, I'm a fan of science-inspired short stories and essays and particularly admire the work of Lewis Thomas, Primo Levi, Miroslav Holub, Italo Calvino, and Devin Johnston.
