Daan L is a real natural in his own technique and vision, which I personally hope he doesn't change too much. Almost all of his photos are in b&w, and he prefers the rich blacks and contrasty tones. His work does not feel forced nor gimmicky nor over-serious; all of which can become boring. Within this easy going style, he conveys his city with subtlety, and an upbeat, yet serene atmosphere, which I am sure viewers will find pleasing. His train and train station photos are composed carefully and beautifully, with an understated excitement. All his work shows an eye with great taste. I'm so glad he is my friend on flickr.
