Its rare to come across a true visionary, someone whose photography is stamped with their personality. Jack has created an intriguing dreamscape of mutant industrial wastelands. Picket fences, mutilated dolls, abandoned homesteads, people on sidewalks with fractured identities. A dark menacing atmosphere which has the hallucinatory clarity of a dream. I sometimes feel i have lived through his photos, i return to his stream and discover the truth is far stranger than i ever imagined. Visually stunning, Francis Bacon and Kafka are constant points of reference, the lightest of touches and the amazing ability to reinvent the world anew, one of the few photostreams that repay constant attention, Jack is a true photographer with the amazing gift of being a true cinematographer, the spiritual descendant of Luis Buñuel.

considering how much thought i've put into this testimonial, i'm afraid my words will fall short. an image from the cyclops is always a bit of a jolt. it's as if a good image has been placed on one of those little multi square puzzles, rearranged, and suddenly an entirely new angle or element has emerged to make it not… Read more

considering how much thought i've put into this testimonial, i'm afraid my words will fall short. an image from the cyclops is always a bit of a jolt. it's as if a good image has been placed on one of those little multi square puzzles, rearranged, and suddenly an entirely new angle or element has emerged to make it not good anymore, but great. it's an entirely new way of seeing! and what makes you want to keep staring is that rich-like-charcoal black and the perfect whites, and the gorgeous grain. cyclops-optic has redefined classic. and everytime i come back to his stream, he's redefined it again.

Slowly going through cyclopsoptic's images makes me realize that I want to fave EVERYTHING. EVERY flickn' shot is great. The world he is shooting is haunting and beautiful. His eye is trained like a microscope bringing our focus onto little details that even the most discerning photographers would ignore. It is a true pleasure to explore his work because it is both exhiliarating and challenging.
