I'm an independent journalist specializing in coverage of high tech products and businesses. I tell stories in print, in blogs, in online multimedia, and in video. I've been a journalist for nearly 40 years, working for magazines and web sites ranging from BYTE to HowStuffWorks.com to Dark Reading.

I'm deeply involved in the Maker community and love telling the stories of creative people. I also paint and make art in various forms and enjoy sharing my art with the world. I'm go out with Urban Sketchers and other artists that work en plein air, though I'll fill a space with art given a little time.

I'm a graduate of the Florida Master Naturalist program, and on the state roll of master naturalists, so photographing the natural world is of considerable interest. I also run and enjoy telling visual stories of people who like to move on their feet.
