Kansas City photo stylist, Debbie Dusenberry, opened her first boutique, Curious Sofa in the Crossroads district of Kansas City in 2000. The shop specialized in vintage items, neutral slipcovered furniture, and decorative objects. With a love for curating products and an unorthodox way of display, Debbie led Curious Sofa to became one of the nation's top independent boutiques and a destination shop for customers across the country.

For ten successful years, both Curious Sofa and Debbie's home were featured in many national, trade and local publications (see the press page) which led to a strong following on the shop's website, blog and Facebook page... and now Instagram

In 2011, Debbie closed her store to focus on online sales through the Curious Sofa website and monthly pop up venues.
