We are Linsay Alvarado and Ashley Segal, soon to be known nationwide as the ladies behind Cure-Couture-the fashionable and functional patient gown. We decided to start Cure-Couture together based on an idea and design from the late fashion designer Linda Segal. Linda was our boss, Ashley's mother, and a mentor to both of us-in business and in life.

   

In May of 2007 Linda was diagnosed with breast cancer. She spent much of the next three years in and out of hospitals for chemotherapy, surgeries, and several in-patients stays lasting weeks at a time. There were many things lacking while stuck in the hospital, but the one thing that Linda always talked about was how much the standard issue gown left to be desired. For those who knew Linda, once she got an idea in her head, there was no stopping her. She had a pattern made for her own hospital gown and was working on choosing prints and fabrications before she passed away. We decided finishing what Linda started was the best way we could honor her and give us some inspiration after losing her.

   

We realize how important self-esteem and individuality are to people. When you are put in a hospital environment it can strip you of those things. There aren't many variables you can change when in that situation, but you CAN choose to wear your own patient gown. We want women to feel better about how they look...for their visitors, their doctors, but mostly for themselves. We want women to look as good as they want to feel and the first step is shedding the unflattering gown...

   

Why stop at the original pattern Linda made?

 

We have created seven unique styles in a slew of gorgeous prints for every possible medical use. Whether you are about to deliver a baby, undergo chemotherapy, or whatever your medical circumstance may be- we have you covered...literally!
