I came across Charlie's photostream by accident, and what an accident it was. The first thing I noticed is that every photo screams "I'm expressing myself!". And Charlie wasn't afraid to do so. The second thing i noticed was how beautifully lit the shots are. Charlie is excellent with light and she knows how to make it work... And the result is visually stunning. Charlie's photostream is one of the best on flickr, because it's mainly expression of a man. And in the two years Charlie has been doing this project, she created a document about herself, and I almost feel like I have known her in person for years!

I enjoy seeing the creativity of her self-portraits, which range from deep and dark to fun and energetic, but it was a black and white landscape, {it all ends with a tree}, that I first took notice of her work. If I had the time, I could spend days studying her technique and asking questions on what inspires her and what she looks for in creating the final image. She's a rock star!

Hmm… What to say about Charlie… Well although confusingly named “Charlie”, she is ACTUALLY a woman. There are several photos on her stream to confirm this. Charlie lives in a small town in England called London. She is employed by the Eastenders Corporation and drives a Taxi on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and works in the Café or on the Market Stall during the weekend omnibus… But I digest… I found Charlie’s stream quite late (she’d already done one 365!) but I was instantly astounded by her use of light and her intuitive awareness of what makes a wonderful image. Apart from her obvious beauty, she is very smart, funny, friendly, incredibly talented and possibly the busiest person on Flickr. On a personnel note I’d like to thank her for making my days just that little bit more enjoyable … And a LOT more enjoyable on a Thursday… ;o)
