My introduction to photography first began when I borrowed my dad's twin lens Rolleiflex for a UC Berkeley architectural design project in my freshman year. I developed and printed my first set of b&w enlargements for my professor and classmates, but my abstract "construction" photographs garnered so much outside attention that I was invited to show them in a solo public exhibit at the University Art Gallery.
After graduating, I focused my full attention on my architectural career with only the occasional photographic outing to shoot the products of my work. These were all photos shot with an assortment of Pentax, Canon, Nikon and Hasselblad film cameras.
Upon my retirement from architecture, my son presented me with a new Nikon D7000, my first DSLR. Good timing, since the D7000 works well with all my old manual Nikkor lenses and I have plenty of free time. While I still shoot architecture, there are many subjects yet to be explored and a new camera yet to be mastered.
