My name is Cristian Pinto, and I reside in Santiago, Chile. My passion for birding took flight during my childhood, nurtured by my father who not only bred parrots and canaries but also maintained an extensive collection of wild birds. Those early days were marked by our involvement with SOCH (Sociedad ornitológica chilena), an ornithological association catering to exotic bird breeders and enthusiasts of captive wild birds. It was a time of profound learning, and I reflect upon those moments with immense gratitude.

Today, my focus lies in the avian wonders of the neotropical region, delving into their acoustic patterns, behaviors, molting strategies, and seasonal movements. Over the past 15 years, I have been actively collaborating with the Chilean NGO "Red de observadores de aves y vida silvestre" (ROC) and their diverse projects. I deeply admire ROC's dedication to supporting budding ornithologists and dedicated bird enthusiasts. Equally commendable is their mission to unite experienced individuals under fundamental values such as collaboration, nature conservation, and sustainability.

I am profoundly thankful for the ROC's hard work in nurturing the future generations of ornithologists and bird lovers. It is through such collective efforts that we can preserve the beauty of our natural world.
