I was weaned on a series of Kodak Instamatics in the 70s & early 80s, used a Konica TC in college where I studied applied photography for two years as part of the University of Oregon's Art History program, have owned a slew of Nikons SLRs and P&S digitals over the years, have a Rollei MX-EVS, a Leica M3 (SS) and a Mamiya C330 but use my Nikon F100 and D200 the most right now. I'm a professional Web designer/developer so I come to the digital workflow from the opposite direction than most photographers, which is to say that I was making my living in Photoshop long before I had a digital camera. As a result I tend to dislike images that are overly post-processed and retouched, especially ones that use the built in "artistic" plugins from Adobe. I like to shoot in available light, often at dusk or at night and I'm drawn to highly saturated colors. I like nature images, architectural shots and found objects. My current obsession is with neon signs, textured surfaces and "found" abstracts. My other creative outlets include music (I've been playing bass in various rock bands since I was 16) and writing (I wrote one of the first blogs called Web-Today Destinations years before the term blog was even coined). Thanks for checking out my portfolio. My work is always evolving and I find all of your comments and suggestions very useful. Keep 'em coming!
